In response, the UK Foreign Office swiftly issued a travel advisory on Sunday, cautioning travelers heading to destinations including Arrecife, San Bartolomé, and Costa Teguise.

For many Brits already on holiday, their sunny escape has turned into a soggy disaster. Videos shared on TikTok paint a bleak but humorous picture, with one family — the Morans — going viral for their ironic soundtrack choice: Jess Glynne’s Hold My Hand, famously used in Jet2 holiday ads. In their clip, the resort’s pool area is completely submerged, blurring the line between the pool and floodwaters, highlighting the extent of the chaos.
